4 - 6 October 2013

Be The Light - Yoga and Meditation Retreat

Meet the Matrix of the Mind with Meditation and Yoga with Yogi Ashokanada

Immerse yourself in a weekend where you can experience the essence of ancient meditation techniques, restorative and strengthening yoga. Many roads of spirituality and yoga lead to a hunger and longing for something blissful. Be The Light will bring you closer to yourself and to a sense of satiety with the sense that you are already everything you could possibly want or desire.

Be The Light weekend will take you on a journey to embrace and merge the subtlest aspects of your spirit with the practical existence of your body allowing you to live in a state of acceptance and empowerment. As Yogi Ashokananda states "Without engaging the vehicle you cannot make any journey" we will lift the many misconceptions and questions surrounding the path of spirituality, meditation and yoga.

Awareness and acceptance are the key tools to embrace in our yoga and meditation practices which will bring you closer to your centre. This is Ashokananda's key approach. Using the simplest yet most effective meditation techniques including The Science of Relaxation active meditation, with roots in Tantra and Kundalini you will discover Yogi Ashokananda's own take on these ancient meditation techniques to have a powerful effect on your life in these modern and often challenging times. These transformative techniques bring about physical and spiritual awareness.

Regardless of your physical strength and ability, Yogi Ashokananda will help you to find your own strength in your body using his signature yoga styles of Himalayan Hatha Yoga and Pranakriya Yoga. You will feel a sense of physical and mental strength, clarity, self- awareness and an understanding of all the practices. We will be engaging the body and mind with a higher vibration which you will take with you and be able to apply and in your everyday life.

The retreat will take place at the gorgeous Croydon Hall. Croydon Hall is one of the UK's top workshop venues, with excellent facilities including Jacuzzi and sauna, and 6 acres of gorgeous grounds. Meals will be freshly prepared, seasonal vegetarian fare, following Sattvic principles.

This retreat will feature a special live Kirtan concert on Saturday evening.

About Yogi Ashokananda

Yogi Ashokananda

Yogi Ashokananda was raised in India and has been practising yoga since early childhood when his Grandfather was his first teacher. Over many years Yogi has been fortunate to develop his teaching, experience and education of yoga under some of the great remote, Indian masters. He has taught the teachings of the Bihar School of Yoga, the Sivananda Ashram and the Shri Ved Niketan Ashram. Now as a Yoga and Meditation Master, he teaches a number of his own profound teachings, insights and disciplines which have their roots in ancient, sacred Indian tradition.

Himalayan Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga and Kriya Yoga are among the styles of yoga he teaches, all of which are based on traditional principles. Ashokananda?s yoga is strong yet supportive and works through the entire body, cleansing and revitalising through special sequencing with a combination of sukshyam vyayam (subtle energy body exercise).

With a vast experience of many different forms of meditation, Yogi Ashokananda teaches some of the most simple and effective techniques to accept, transform and embrace the material and spiritual aspects of ourselves. These include the Science of Relaxation Meditation, Rising Sap and Atma Meditation, Kriyashakti, Tantra and Kundalini Meditations.

Yogi Ashokananda is considered to be one of the true existing masters of yoga and meditation. His Power Yoga & Kriya Yoga DVD is currently available nationwide. He has press coverage from Yoga and Health, Om and Top Sante magazines among others, and was featured in a Channel 4 Production called ?Breath?.

Yogi Ashokananda enjoys seeing people grow and evolve on all levels through his teaching, watching them transform, rediscover themselves and find their own path. Through regular practice of yoga and meditation, he believes others can feel greater vitality, inner joy, harmony, peace, love and freedom, passing through and embracing all the discomforts and comforts in the journey of life.

Residing mainly in the UK, Yogi Ashokananda teaches classes, workshops and retreats extensively throughout Europe and internationally. He is a registered senior teacher of Yoga Alliance UK and runs teacher training throughout the year. Yearly retreats are also run at The Ashok Tree (Ashokananda Ashram), Tiruvannamalai, India.

In 2008, Yogi Ashokananda founded The Sita Devi School, a charity school in India to support the education of local, under-privileged children.
