Wake Up The F#ck Up - Brett Moran London Wellbeing Festival

  • 08th April 2016
Mind Body Sprit Festival presenter Brett Moran shares how a drug deal in a prison library woke him up and transformed his life into an epic adventure. What started out as one mans quest for personal freedom has now been 10 years of service and giving back.

Have you ever been inside a prison?

Nothing you’ve seen in the movies or read in books can prepare you for the shock and horror you feel when you get sent down and marched to your prison cell. The cold concrete floors. The grey lifeless walls. The tiny barred windows. I felt sick to my stomach, suffocated and trapped and desperate for a way out. But I couldn’t go anywhere! My destiny was written in the stars and I had a sentence to serve. When the screw slammed the door shut behind me and locked the big metal door part of me felt empty and I felt as though I had lost my freedom.

The Wake Up Call

Thankfully prison was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learnt how to use the power of my imagination and set myself free inside. I found two paths in prison. Heroin and spirituality, luckily I got hooked to the latter and I’ve never looked back! I remember the day it all started. Standing in the prison library, looking shady and suspicious, waiting for a drug deal, when all of a sudden a small paperback book fell to the ground right in front of me. Intrigued, I bent down to pick it up. The little book was called Moment by Moment by Jerry Braza, a book about mindfulness and mediation. As I held the book in my hands something strange came over me and I decided to read the back cover. As strange as it sound I felt free! To be honest I’d never read a book in my life. Especially some woo woo mumbo jumbo about spirituality! Being brought up on a council estate by a racist football hooligan, reading books about love and higher power at bedtime was never going to happen in my household. My teenage years were filled with dealing drugs, violence and driving get away cars for armed robbers! But the book made perfect sense to me. I felt it deep inside! I spent the months I had in solitude practicing mindfulness and meditation. Reading the book twice over, looking inside myself, facing my darkest demons and leaning how my thought were an illusion and I was simply a product of my environment.

Engineering Vision

“Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn.”  Mahatma Gandhi One night I laid awake and BAM this vision flashed into my mind. I saw an image of myself running around on top of a field on a sunny day with my mum and daughter. It felt good and I forgot I was locked up. Ever since that first vision I’ve been using the power of my imagination to create the outcomes I’ve wanted in my life. From getting clean off drugs to getting a book deal! After almost 15 years of personal transformation I discovered that the mind is the tool that sets us free and creates our reality. And it doesn’t matter what your current situation is, even if you are banged up behind bars, you can set your self free and create your future. The third chapter in my new book Wake The F#ck Up is called Engineering Vision. In this chapter I share how you can take control of your mind, separate from your limiting ego and reconnect to your heart and consciousness so you can create the life you love, ignite more energy and over come life’s challenges more easily. And that’s exactly what I’ll be sharing with you at my workshop at the London Wellbeing Festival. I’m going to show you how to switch off from your crazy and often critical thoughts and reconnect to a more loving voice inside you that wants you too feel abundant and live a life of personal freedom. Whether you want to find your soul mate so you feel loved, have more money in your bank account so you can travel the world and be free, or create better health so you have more energy and time to do the things you dream off. It all start within! At my workshop we’ll take quantum leap into your future and tattoo your new life and vision for success into your subconscious mind so you can literally achieve some of your wildest dreams. Think law of attraction on steroids! When you learn how to take control of your imagination and use the power already within you your life will radically change. You’ll feel happier, lighter and have more energy and direction then ever before. It’s bliss! I’m super excited to share with you the tools and techniques I’ve learnt to create one epic adventure and help thousands of people all around the world do exactly the same.
