Naomi Devlin

Gut Instinct - can our microbes influence our behaviour?

We're aware of how important the gut microbiome is for digestive health and immunity, but could microbes be partially responsible for impulsive behaviour, mood swings, cravings and binge eating? Naomi will explore the intimate link between our microbes and our emotional selves and how we can influence them positively.

ABOUT Naomi Devlin

Naomi Devlin is a food writer, fermenter and nutritionist, based in West Dorset. She teaches courses on gluten free cookery, nutrition and gut health at River Cottage and other venues around the UK. She grew up in a rural commune where the milk was raw and vegetables came fresh from the ground. A coeliac diagnosis started her journey into free-from food as she looked to recreate the nourishing meals of her youth and avoid the free-from aisle. Whether baking sourdough or foraging for nettles, her focus is always on satisfying, colourful food that feels comfortingly familiar, yet intriguingly different.
