Notes from Mind Body Spirit

Hello,

Although I see many of you on the show floor or at our events, we at Team MBS wanted to lift our heads to say hello and update you over the year on the goings on behind the scenes.

This newsletter is a way of keeping you up to date on what we’ve been up to at MBS, things that are going well, challenges we are all facing and some free content and experiences we can give back to you as part of our presenter and exhibitor community.

Writing this is way out of my comfort zone, I am trying to not think about how many of you are published authors reading this, so please feel free to share any feedback, on how we can improve them, topics you’d like to discuss, or advice on how to unsubscribe. ;)

Our take on the market?

Honestly, as you know it’s bloody tough out there at the moment!

Customers are more conscious on where and what they spend their money on, buying decisions are slower, more considered and definitely more last minute and, that’s when you can reach them! We’ve noticed on our own platforms and anecdotally organic reach is harder than ever to attract, with Meta requiring more and more ad spend to reach the same audiences we were connecting with 12 months ago organically. It can be challenging when you’ve spent days coming up with a strategy, creating and then editing the content! However, with the right angle and strategic spend you can see cut through, our social platforms have grown 7.8% in followers in the last three months. Over a thirty day window we’ve seen our social platforms reach a whopping 1.8million views, creating not just great brand exposure but seeing an uplift of 77% in tickets for the upcoming London Festival over the same period.

We are all exhausted by a constantly online and AI slop landscape, having products and services dictated to us by the algorithm and investing thousands of pounds to build platforms that the tech billionaires can just turn off.

But it’s not all bad news! We know from experience that the MBS sector is a traditionally resilient market, outpacing many sectors during the ‘08 crash and the pandemic. The biggest drivers for audiences are community and trust. A recent report by the Global Wellness Summit backs this, showing a cultural shift away from tech driving, data obsessed optimisation and a move towards human-centred care.

So, our strategy is simple, we are betting on and are already seeing that 2026, and beyond, is no longer about large social media followings but embracing real social, emotional and spiritual connection. Uplifting human experience over doom scrolling. No app can ever really replace people. Now is the time to double down on community and keep showing up for your audience; they may not turn up to everything, but consistency is key.

I’d love to hear if you agree, disagree or to share with us what’s worked for you so we can share in the next newsletter!

What have we’ve been up to?

To prove it’s not all talk, we’ve been out from behind the desk connecting with audiences already this year. We have hosted Rebecca Campbell for a sacred journey into the Inner Temple at the beautiful St John’s in London, supported Michele Knight-Waite’s incredible new book hosted at Conway Hall and taken Paul McKenna on the road with a full-day immersive experiences in the UK and Dublin.

As the London Mind Body Spirit Festival approaches, we’re seeing really positive ticket sales and stand bookings. We’ve confirmed some incredible headliners this May including brand new to our Festival family, Liz Earle MBE, Brad Riches, Lilly Statham, and flying in internationally Dr Richard Bandler (USA), Blake Bauer (USA) and Sean Collyns (Australia).

We’ve also signed a Partnership deal with MoonPig, Buy a Gift and Red-Letter Days to include the Mind Body Spirit Festival experiences on their platforms. We are really excited to see the potential in this Partnership as a great experience, penetration to a new audience and a step towards bringing the gift of spirituality into the mainstream. We have invited our friends at MoonPig to the London Festival so let us know if you would like us to host a networking with them to share your work!

Finally, following feedback and a desire from us to inspire the next generation of exhibitors, we have just launched a new initiative called SEED (Supporting Emerging Exhibitor Development). This is available to ‘product-led’ brand-new businesses who are looking for tabletop opportunities at London up on the gallery. This is by application only and if you know someone that be interested, please drop an email for more information, exhibitors@mindbodyspirit.co.uk.

Something that you may enjoy

This section is only available to our festival community of exhibitors and presenters, if you'd like to be part of that club to access complimentary events tickets and added bonuses please email info@mindbodyspirit.co.uk.

Finally, thank you for reading and if you’d like to be part of any of our upcoming festivals, events or have ideas for discussion points please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
