Yin Yoga is the slow moving, nourishing complement to the fast and fiery yang of Power Yoga. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Deep stretches are held for up to 5 minutes with the aim of finding release in the body. Either seated or lying down, enjoy deeply healing poses. As tension is released, targeting the myofascial & connective tissues, observe improved energy flow throughout the body. This will be a very cosy, comfortable & supported practice – bring lots of cushions, bolsters & blankets!
Dheeya is extremely passionate about teaching yoga, having found her practice during her doctoral studies. She enjoys bringing the philosophy of yoga to the practice which challenges students both mentally and physically in a way that is entirely personal and uplifting. She feels that yoga is an environment where students explore all angles of yoga - physical, mental emotional and spiritual – to fully nourish their mind and soul. With strong Eastern and Asian influences, she strongly believes that life requires a balance and that it is just as important to rest and recharge as it is to have a sweaty dynamic class.
