Lisa's class is open to all - from yoga first timers to experts, and to all stages of pregnancy from 12 weeks onwards. Practicing yoga during pregnancy helps to reduce tiredness, weight gain and back pain and provides the important aspect of support between women. Lisa will give a gentle sequence of postures/asanas that all women can enjoy whilst improving flexibility and strength in body in preparation for labour. During the class, you will gain awareness about breath, calming the mind, body, and nervous system. This is particularly vital in pregnancy as it promotes the release of Oxytocin (the love hormone) helping us to detach from the chaos of the outer world and connect to our baby.
Certified in both Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow, Lisa believes that Yoga is a way of life; the development of strength and flexibility of the body can then create that well-loved yogic strength and flexibility of the mind, helping practitioners develop more peace, love, happiness and kindness. Lisa teaches strong, energetic sequences with alignment-based flow created to make you feel good.
When she became pregnant for the first time and her practice slowed down, Lisa completed both her Pregnancy Yoga and Mum & Baby / Postnatal Yoga courses and felt this was the best thing she could have done! She discovered how simple breath and deep relaxation can help a woman heal physically, mentally and emotionally. She has also completed training in Childrens’ Yoga with Susannah Hoffman, Developmental Baby Massage with Peter Walker and the Paramana Doula Course with Dr Michel Odent and Liliana Lammers.
